We Did It!

Well, today we finished our prep work for the meeting. Yes, this counts as school. This is the most important work there is. We read, wrote and discussed everything that will be used and discussed at the meeting. The book Come Be My Follower is not on mp3 yet so I could not download that but that is where we practiced our reading.

I also made these pages that I will probably work on a bit

more still. Tomorrow will be a longer text so I will see if the lines are too big and maybe I can put 2 days into one page. This is counting as handwriting. I told them they had to do their best handwriting on these pages. Now hopefully their writing will get better and not look like chicken scratch.

I think this is a good time to start a new schedule that includes all prep work for the meetings and try to make it still. We started out our year right. Now, let's see if we can keep it going. A sister is working on her schedule and I figured I would too and see if we can stick to it. I will eventually post on my schedule when I get done with it.

So what have you all done? Are you including meeting prep as part of your school day or do you do it later on in the evening?

My Baby's 1st Bible Reading

6yrs old and Aaron had his first bible reading today. It can't get much nicer than that. Talk about a nervous mom. Whew!! Glad that is over with. We worked on that reading for about 2months and he did great.
Doesn't he look like a big man? Wish you all could have heard it. There were lots of ooohhhhhs and aaahhhhhhs. hehehehe
His new school book and his first counsel. I can't believe he is growing up.
Of course, his favorite part of today was the cake and fun afterwards. I can't say that I minded too much the chocolate covered strawberries. YUM!! Really wish you all were here for that.

Meeting with Friends

You would think I would be taking lots of pictures but nope, I didn't. I took a few of the kids outside and of Nancy and I but that was about it. Oh, yes, the drama too. What a wonderful drama. Hey, I have tons of gray! Oh, no, those are my highlights. hehehe We had a nice time.

His special day

August 23, 2008 was the day.

He did it!

He was so nervous. He told me before meeting if he could not do it. hehehe But he did it. He did great! Do you like the little stool he has to stand on?

What a cutie! I am happy he did it and got it over with. We took him out to have a slush at Sonic's. Of course, everyone else had to have something to help him celebrate his accomplishment. hehehe I had a banana split. Wow, its been a while since I had one of those. YUM!!
He listened to the bible reading on mp3 over and over while he had his purple paper with the bible reading printed on it. It didn't take him too long this time in preparing for it.

Now I have to work with the baby for his #2 reading coming up in Sept. I think they will have to put a chair for him to stand on. hehehehe
