A bird, a bird!!!

We drove home and I saw this bird on the electrical wire close to our house. There hasn't been any birds around lately but I saw this one and I hadn't seen it before so I slowly drove up and it stayed there. I ran in and got my binoculars to get a closer look. What a pretty bird! It's an Eastern Phoebe. I will have to go out and put more bird feed out there. Although we will be freezing tomorrow and I don't know if I will feel like going out there in freezing temps. Oh come on, don't laugh at me. We don't get too many freezing days down here in Texas. So if it gets to freezing for one or two nights I don't go out much.

I took these pictures with a different camera because I couldn't get my regular camera to focus on that tiny bird. I am going to get me a new camera in a couple of weeks and I'm looking into a few. I'll also be looking for a good zoom lens to go with it. Can't wait to get it when I decide what to get.

We've had 11 different species at our bird feeders this week - even in our freezing temps! :-) But, no Eastern Phoebes. (Not that I would have been able to identify one.) I'll have to watch for one!

I got a new Canon Rebel XTI for Christmas and I'm getting my zoom lens next week. So far, I'm loving it, but I was mainly getting it so I could get a zoom lens... to photograph birds! :-)
