Changes must happen

A while back hubby brought home from work some grubs. This was last year in the summer months that he got these. We have kept them in an aquarium with dirt to see what they turn into. They are the biggest things I've ever seen. Well, guess what? There is a change in one of them. This little guy is making a change. He was tired of his wormy existence and started the change. hehehe Reminds me of the movie Tremors. We think it will be a rhinoceros beetle. If you look at the site on Wikipedia you can see the stages.

I found this video on YouTube and thought it was interesting. It's amazing what this worm looking thing will change into. We can't wait to see the final change and see a beetle. I wonder if it will be that huge. I can't imagine it being that big.

Very cool. I'll have to show my son - he is a huge beetle fan, and would love to see this! :)

I don't have time this morning to watch the video, but that looks so neat! I hope you do get a Hercules beetle! We found one last summer (you can google my blog) and it was SO BIG!!! Ours was a female, though, so it wasn't 'quite' as neat. Can't wait to see what you get! :-)

Oh, and the place we went last Friday with the zip line is in Conroe near the Outlet Mall and is called 7 Acre Woods.

My son enjoyed the video. But I think that is one hideous looking grub! Ugh!

Thank you for visiting my blog. Your comment got me interested in what you are doing. So over here, I go. LOL What do you feed the grubs? I'll be doing some research on this and having the kids dig in the garden this weekend. Thanks!... I think. LOL
