Going, going, gone...

It was time to let our visitor go back to natural life. I don't think he wanted to go. It was hard getting him to leave but once he knew it was freedom....
It took off. Can you see how long and fat it was?
Another thing we saw is these guys. It's that time of year again. We have to be careful where we go and always look around to make sure we are not running into anything we don't want to.
If you click on the picture you will see it even closer. What a neat surprise! Can you see what is in those cells? Yep, it's time to get out the spray.

Fun Weekend

We were invited to a gathering at the park. It was hot, that is about all I can say about it. My baby wanted to play in those tubes no matter how hot it was.
He also got to play horseshoes too till the brother in the wheelchair took over, hehehe. He wanted to play a bit more but was happy to have been able to try.
Then Sunday at the meeting my baby and his little friend posed for pictures. They are so funny. I could not take one decent picture. It was an ok weekend but way too hot.

sssssssssnake

The boys were outside in between the rains and they came across their new indoor pet for a few days anyway. hehehehe Yes, it is inside! It took a while to get it in our big jar. He didn't want to get caught. It is around 2 1/2 to 3 feet long. WHOA!! hehehe At least it eats mice and outdoor little critters. At least we are not on the menu.

We will have it inside for a few days to observe. We are a weird bunch, we homeschoolers. hehehe

Learning Bible Books

I saw this on the internet somewhere and liked the idea. We all need some practice. Do I know all of them in order without wondering if I missed one? aaahhhhhh Did I actually ask that question? hehehehe We will be doing this for fun. I will of course take them all off and put them in a box and we will have to put them in order. I also like the idea I found on Jackie's site. These are great ideas, anyone have any other ones?

Nature Pictures

We don't get out much in this heat but when we do I like to stop and take pictures here and there of what we find. Sometimes I am amazed at the pictures I end up with with my new camera and the zoom lens. If you click on the pictures they you can see them even closer.
These sunflowers were at a sisters house. I think sunflowers remind of us of the sun and nice warm days not these hot sweltering days we are having.
This spider was at that friends house. The oldest son asked me if I wanted to see the smiling face spider and of course I had to. hehehe Out pops my camera and I began taking pictures. The reason he called it a smiling face spider is that it looks like it has two eyes and a smile on it's abdomen. Those pictures came out to blurry to see but take my word for it, it does! It's called an orchard spider. If you look here you will see another picture and sort of see the smile.

That was our weekend fun and nature time.

Fun with Friends

Having fun climbing trees with some friends. That is what we did today. They climbed, played and had a great time.
Acting silly was also in the plans. hehehe It was fun.
How cute can she be? Everyone had a fun time.

Anniversary Party

Well my mom had to do this. The cake was good but I love the punch.
Can't you just taste it? We had a little extra and I froze it and the next day had it as a slush. YUM!!
We also had entertainment. He is getting real good. He is even throwing one from behind his back and then juggling.
Check out the concentration. It's always nice to have entertainment from the guys.

That Time of the Year Again

That was me and my hubby on July 13, 1985. Some things have changed...my dad is asleep, that ugly old hall is not a hall anymore, my hair is turning white, I'm not that slim anymore but let's not go there. hehehe
This is us now. Well, last year anyway or was it 2 years ago? hhmmmmm Anyway, don't we look cute? Maybe you shouldn't answer that. hehehe

Couldn't Resist

La-o-di-ci-a, I love how it sounds. hehehehehe I laughed at that. We have been using that phrase since we came home from the DC. Oh and I love my camera. It looks like I am up front but in fact I was very far away. I took a ton more pictures but can only show one since one of you haven't had their DC yet.

What else??? I'm trying to get some school things done this month. I hope we can have all of August off so that I can make some plans. I am as many of you are going to try to be more organized and stay on schedule. hehehehe Don't laugh.....I did say I was going to try. Did I mention that I need more bookshelves? I actually need wall to wall shelves. I've gotta see if I can get hubby to start making those.

I started helping my baby with his bible reading for Sept. He has just started learning it and he just told me this morning if he could wait till he was 7yrs old to do it. hehehe I'm still helping him with it though.

The oldest has his last set of questions for baptism on Tuesday. Our DC that we are assigned too is at the end of August. So we will take in two DC's this year. How exciting. Let's see I for sure want to make it to Friday afternoon part and of course, we have to make it to Saturday morning one. I will probably be there all day Sunday because we leave the motel that day.

Oh and did I mention that this Sunday, July 13th is our anniversary. Yep, it's made it around again. 23 years is long time don'tcha think.

Ok gotta get busy with cleaning and school and..and...and...lots to do.

I'm Back

This weekend was the DC. It was great but the driving into Houston was like this.
There is always construction. There is always traffic.
I guess they are making more overpasses. Way too much construction going on.
Sunday was the best day for driving. I guess everyone stays off the roads then.

It was very refreshing to go though even the new publications were wonderful. I'm not saying much more because some of you haven't had you DC yet. All I can say is that there were 52 baptized and there were over a little over 8000 on Sunday. Oh and the drama was very good too.

Now it's back to school till our official DC in August. Got lots to do this month.
