Outdoor Time

We are having a very interesting and incredible start to this year.  Drought is the number one complaint for our part of Texas but now starting at the end of January this is what you see on the trees.  The leaves are starting to pop out.  We looked out the window midday and admired the green leaves starting to come out.  Soon it will be hot and those leaves will shade the swings and the pool area.
We went outside to walk around and see what else we could see and seems like everything is starting to bloom.  I have a big cactus plant and look at those beautiful buds.  We love looking at the reds coming out of all that green.
We enjoyed seeing another bud closer to blooming.  Can't wait to take a picture of that when it opens all the way.
The last crazy thing we saw outside is my oldest cutting grass.  Not that he never cuts grass but although we are in a drought the weeds keep popping up and since the grass is almost dead the weeds have taken over.  This is February and this is the earliest we have ever mowed.  Wonder what other crazy things we will see as we enjoy going outside to take in the air and get some much needed outdoor time.

I am so upset over our lack of winter this year. I am in the top of Louisiana. Four weeks ago the leaves finally all fell out of our trees. That was super late! Now over a week ago we have had buds and flowers. Wah!

Take care...it looks like the south is in for a hot one this LONG summer!

Winter is non-existent here in N CA. We are back to having warm sunny days after only a few days of rain.

Your cactus is going to be pretty! I enjoyed seeing your TX images from your outdoor time. :)

We're going to have to mow this week, before my daughter's birthday. It's early to mow here, too. (South Alabama). We didn't have winter. It will be a long summer, but it was nice weather for the winter time.

Winter? What winter? We already have daffodils and Carolina jessamine in bloom!

Our crazy warm-too-soon weather had my husband mowing our yard last week, too. And although we don't usually have much snow here in Georgia, we usually get at least one decent snow each winter, but this year I haven't even seen a flurry. :(

Wow, outside time, I don't really know what that is. hehe We are still smack dab in the middle of winter! We just got a few more inches yesterday. Nope, no blooming going on here in AB, Canada yet! Probably by May we should have some. We do enjoy seeing the birds come to our feeders though.
Those cactus buds are beautiful! Can't wait to see pics of them in full bloom.
